Virgo New Moon August 22-23, 2025
Virgo is a Mutable Earth sign ruled by Mercury and the natural ruler of the Sixth House in the natural Zodiac. The Sixth House is where we look for information on health, occupation, food, employees and small animals. Virgo archetypes are the Servant, Critic, Perfectionist, Analyst, a Craftsperson and has tendencies towards whining, fault-finding and the Martyr.
Symbolized by the Virgin and associated with Astraea, the last immortal to live amount humans during the Greek Golden Age and when humanity fell into corruption, she left Earth and became the constellation Virgo. Virgo is also associated with Demeter and Persephone the Mother and Daughter representing the harvest and causing the changing of seasons. In Egyptian mythology Virgo is associated with Isis, the Mother, Healer and Magician.
An interesting configuration is Uranus making a square to the New Moon while making a sextile to Mercury and Saturn – expect the unexpected when it comes to breaking barriers and pushing boundaries. This will also contribute to chaotic communications and a general feeling of confusion, reminds me of the old Marvin Gaye song, “What’s Goin’ On”. The trine from Saturn to Mercury opens opportunities for new visions and horizons. Neptune also making a trine to Mercury, your inspirations could very well begin in the dream state and this is a good time to pay special attention to your dreams.
Jupiter is making a square to Venus so you may be feeling some financial pressures more so than usual. Use your positive affirmations to keep a high vibration and avoid negative thinking. Aromatherapy and gentle movement like Yoga are great for helping settle the mind and incessant chatter.
Chamomile, Ginger Root, Fennel, Parsley, and Aloe Vera are helpful for calming emotions. Virgo rules the Bowels, Intestines and Adrenals and it is important to take extra care to not allow the disruptive energies to upset your system. Virgo is the Solar Plexus Chakra where the nervous system, digestive process and metabolism are vitalized. Meditate envisioning a golden warm yellow Light around the stomach, rib cage and navel areas.

Mars is making a sextile to Virgo’s ruling planet Mercury and sextiles take the edge off of the challenging squares occurring at this time.
